Experience deep and profound healing and awareness in Nada Yoga Workshop. Join Tamara and Kapil for a 2 hour exploration in to Nada Yoga. Nada is held in great esteem in the yogic tradition. Nada may be thought of in the following way: sonant, resonance, reverberation, elemental “sound” or vibration. In yogic cosmology nada plays an important role in manifestation at the cosmic level: from transcendental to the immanent (or the material). It is not surprising then that the yogic toolkit uses nada as one way in which to experience aspects of ourselves: the energetic, emotional, and mental aspects of our being. In this workshop we delve into nada in an approachable way to experience deeper, more subtle aspects of ourselves. We start with asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breath techniques) to create space, followed by relaxation and witnessing techniques to tune the mind to sound in its more subtle aspects. Next we work gross and subtle sounds and vibrations in different parts of the body through the chanting of musical scales. Starting on June 2nd at 11:30 am, BendnMove will offer free meditation group chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra 108 times. The combination of sounds in any mantra creates a specific vibration in the body. Our body has a vibratory dimension. The vibrations are the manifest symptoms of the life-force. The strong syllables of the Mahamrityunjaya create a vibration which, according to tradition, removes the influences of stagnation, that static nature which is without any inspiration and motivation, and encourages health and healing at the physical, emotional, and mental levels of our being. Names of people in need of support may be added to a list which is read and remembered before each chanting session. This session follows the morning practice. You can stay or just drop in for the practice. You are invited to learn and chant along or just listen in quiet reflection.
